The First Lady of the Nation held an audience with the Prime Minister responsible for Administrative Coordination, Manuel Osa Nsue. Her Excellency Doña Constancia Mangue de Obiang expressed her outrage regarding recent events that have flooded our country’s social media—a social scandal that has crossed our borders, damaging the image and reputation of Equatorial Guinean women by Balthazar Ebang Engonga.
This meeting on Wednesday, 6 November, marked the first between Manuel Osa Nsue and Her Excellency Doña Constancia Mangue since his appointment as the visible head of the central administration of the Equatorial Guinean state.
The meeting served as an opportunity to address various topics, primarily current social issues, with particular reference to the indecent images circulating on social media.
Her Excellency Doña Constancia Mangue de Obiang, in addition to voicing her indignation over the incident, also sought to understand the Government’s strategy for addressing this situation, which continues to distort and undermine the image and reputation of Equatorial Guinean women, despite efforts regarding gender issues.
Manuel Osa Nsue, who welcomed the guidance of the First Lady of the Nation, also conveyed a message to the public: “This situation has arisen, and what we must do is find ways to control it and learn from these mistakes so that such events do not reoccur in our society.”
